Dell XPS Completely Modded for Gaming

Hi there.

I own my XPS 8700 since december 2014, since I bought it I made lots of modifications in order to improve it`s performance. Many people question me why didn't I built a gaming PC... Well, I got it for a good price, I always owned Dell's products, and I very much apreciate the design of the case. Besides, I really like case moding, despite I never had the chance to do It until then.

So, my changes:

As you can see I've changed everything's color. I didn`t like the Piano Black front, actually I simple hate this kind of finishing; the scratches really stand out and the fingers impressions on the surface are very noticeable. So I decided to mix black and white matte colors. I do liked the contrast that this combination does with the red light of the fans.

I added three additional fans: one 120mm fan is placed on the side panel as an exhauster, to do it I made use of a cup saw. I put one fan on the front panel. If you analise the case is already designed to let air come in, I only improved It by putting a 140mm fan on the perforated front panel. I put one extra fan on the bottom, with a drill machine I made a lot holes in a circular area and placed a 80mm fan as a ventilator. With this configuration I got a big amount of cold air coming from below and hot air going from above.

 I made lots upgrades:
- I switched the original 430W PSU for a Corsair CX750M PSU
- I changed the Radeon R9 270 for a MSI R9 390
- I added a Samsung EVO 750 240GB SSD
- I added an Asus Xonar Dx 7.1 sound card
- I added on the front bay a fan controller
- I changed original CPU coller for a Raijintek Pallas (I had to adapt the hanging mechanism to successfuly establish the contact betwen the coller's dissipator and the processor contact surface)

The other components remain the same since I bought it.

I'm starting this thread not only to show my work, but to help someone who already considered to make some modification, but didn't figured how. Furthermore I'm opened to suggestions and questions. Hope you somehow enjoy it.
