Bulleted Lists Not Working Correctly in WYSIWYG Editor

When I try to create a "plain" (unordered) bulleted list in the WYSIWYG editor it appears to work correctly while I'm composing my reply, but the bullet points disappear after the reply is posted.

I also noticed that if I try to create an ordered list and choose Lower Alpha (a., b., c., ...) it always changes to the default numbered list (1., 2., 3., ...).

Same issue. There in composing, not after submit.

Hi @DELL-Chris M :

Testing Lower Alpha (a., b., c., ...) to create an ordered list again.

  1. Item 1
  2. Item 2
  3. Item 3

Nope, I still can't create an an ordered list with Lower Alpha (a., b., c., ...).  It just changes to a numbered list (1., 2., 3., ...) after it's posted.

I should also mention that once I post a reply I no longer have the ability to make an edit.  On the bright side, my previous post <above> didn't go straight to moderation and disappear after it was posted.

New test for 06-Nov-2024:

  • unordered bullet list 1
  • unordered bullet list 2
  • unordered bullet list 3
  1. ordered alpha lowercase a
  2. ordered alpha lowercase b
  3. ordered alpha lowercase c
  1. ordered number 1
  2. ordered number 2
  3. ordered number 3

EDIT:

Still not fixed.  Formatting looks correct in the WYSIWYG editor, but as soon as I post the bullet points for my "plain (unordered) bullet list disappear, and the ordered list with lower alpha (a., b., c., ...) changes to a numbered list (1., 2., 3., ...).

Only my third example worked as expected where I chose an ordered list with numbers (1., 2., 3., ...).

Still not working as of 09-Dec-2024.  I tried adding an unordered bullet list to one of my posts today - the bullet points looked fine in preview but the formatting disappeared after I posted, and I wasn't allowed to edit my post to fix it.

Hi DELL-Chris M:

Just to clarify what was shown in the second example of my 06-Feb-2025 <above>:

In addition to the unordered bulleted lists being broken, the "Lower Alpha" ordered lists using alphabetical characters starting with a., b., c.,  etc. aren't' working either. Instead, theses a., b., c., ... ordered lists are incorrectly numbered as 1., 2., 3., ... after the reply is posted.

New test for 10 Jun-2025:

  • unordered bullet list (1st line)
  • unordered bullet list (2nd line)
  • unordered bullet list (3rd line)
  1. ordered alpha lowercase a
  2. ordered alpha lowercase b
  3. ordered alpha lowercase c
  1. ordered number 1
  2. ordered number 2
  3. ordered number 3

EDIT:

My unordered bullet list worked today, but the problem still isn't fixed for my second example where I chose an ordered list with alpha letters  (a., b., c., ..).

The image below I captured of my WYSIWYG editor just before I posted (i.e., what I should see after posting) shows the bullets for my second example (selecting an ordered list with lower case alpha letters a., b., c., ...) are still being changed to an ordered numeric list with numbers 1., 2., 3., etc.

Just double-checking my unordered bullet list:

  • unordered bullet list (line 1)
  • unordered bullet list (line 2)
  • unordered bullet list (line 3)

EDIT:

Yes, my unordered bullet list is now working correctly.  Kudos to the devs.
