XPS 13 9343 No wifi after first update of Windows 10

Dell XPS 13 9343.

I've upgraded to Windows 10 and WIFI worked fine.

But after the first update installed from windows update center, WIFI is not working.

In the device manager (Dell Wireless 1560 802.11ac) it appears a yellow warning on it. And I have the latest version of drivers installed.

Fololling the advises from other posts, this is what I've tried (without success) so far:

1) Re-install the drivers manually

2) Run command reg delete HKCR\CLSID\{988248f3-a1ad-49bf-9170-676cbbc36ba3} /va /f  (register entry not found)

3) Run command netcfg -v -u dni_dne (dni_dne not installed)

4) I don't have installed any Cisco VPN Client

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the support

Finally I've fixed it uninstalling the current driver version marking the check optin "Delete the drivers from disk" . Doing this, magically now is working. Also I've had to prevent Windows Update to update Dell Wireless broadcom again. If driver is updated, the problem comes again.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Well, After trying with different drivers options...I've fixed it, but to be honest, I don't understand how. I've uninstalled the current drivers (the latest one downloaded from dell support), marking the check "Delete drivers", and magically not it's working fine.

Maybe this can help others.

Thanks to all.

Go to your touter settings and switch the DNS server address from Automatic to 208.67.222.222? primary and 208.67.220.220. This has worked with Win 10.

How does one "go to router settings"?

Thank you,

Mark

It's easy to do but difficult to describe, especially as I'm currently on a tablet. Search the web for "changing DNS server addresses". It can be done starting from Network Settings or directly on the router by entering you specific router address in a browser.

I also don't understand it, but it worked on my daughters Dell laptop. After a few days, the problem came back. She found the DNS addresses had reverted to the previous settings. She made the change again, and it was fixed again. All I can figure is that if the automatically selected DNS server has problems; you might connect at a very slow rate, looking not connected. I am sure it's real with her, as about 2 seconds after closing the router settings the laptop connected.

Thanks again KirkD. I'll keep in mind your suggestions. In my case, finally it has been a driver issue.

Hi KirkD,

Thanks for answering. I've tried this and it doesn't work...Honestly, I don't understand how change the dns in the router could solve the problem, because it seems to be a hardware issue (the Wireless device cannot start). I I check the device manager, it appears with the warning signal. I've re-checked that the driver version installed is the last one...

Thanks

To keep an update from installing, download "showhide" from Microsoft. It will hide any updates you didn't want. Works good.

I rolled back to a previous driver version. It is version 6.30.223.227 and now it works perfectly.

Go to Device manager --> Network adapters --> Dell wireless 1560 802.11ac --> Driver --> Roll Back Driver

It seems to be a solution by now!
