WiFI issues with Inspiron 15 3521 running Windows 8.1
Recently, my laptop will not connect to my wifi. Or any wifi, as I have tried connecting to other networks as well. I can see them, I can manually tell it to connect, but get the response "Cannot connect". I tried all the suggested fixes I could find, and nothing worked. As a last resort, I replaced the WLAN card and downloaded and installed the latest drivers. I had a connection. The next day, I am back to not being able to reconnect.
Yes I have tried rebooting my router. (Desktop computerm Roku, Playstation 4, phones, and wifi connected blu-ray player all access the wifi without a problem, by the way) I have, as I said, reinstalled the latest drivers.Since the typical access point for this computer is at the other end of the house from the router, it's not practical to connect with an ethernet cable all the time. Plus the point of a laptop is portability.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Two WiFi cards, same issue, leads me to think the fault is the actual operating system. Are you still running the operating system we installed from the factory in 2012? If yes, perhaps try to do an operating system repair. If still no go, consider backing up all of your data to an external HDD and clean installing the operating system and drivers. Then retest.
