Wifi extender

Simple question! I am running a Dell Inspiron mini 10. No major problems if I don't have the best. I would like to extend my wifi range so I can go out on porch and still not lose connection with router. Right now I can set on porch and keep one bar most of the time. But it might drop out occasionally. I don't want to invest a lot of money. What criteria should I be looking for? Its a netgear router. I see there is several repeaters available at Walmart for $22 up to $99. I am thinking that the $22 dollar one will do me just fine. Would it be advisable to jump up a little bit to say mid range $50? Thanks

rickluc,

Getting the extender would work for you. Although, we have not tested any of their products; you could try it out. If it doesn't meet your expectations then take it back and get a different one. Below is one from Walmart that may work ok for you.

Would appreciate any advice... seems I tried everything. We have a DELL Inspiron 7790 AIO DESKTOP. Since our flat goes around angles we have also installed a NETGEAR AC2200 Nighthawk X4 WiFi Mesh Extender.

The DELL connects phantastically directly to the router when placing it in the room with the modem. However when placing the DELL in our office and trying to connect to the Extender (which is mid-way between modem and office), nothing happens - it won't connect. Now, I can rule out that its an Extender issue since it all lights up green (meaning excellent connection to the modem) and 3 other devices in the office connect beautifully to the Extender.

I dont know how to fix this but its really a problem as I need the DELL for work... Appreciate any advice, thank you!
