WiFi adapter on XPS 9550 starts to be slow
Hi, on my XPS 9550 laptop, WiFi card started working strange. We didn't move anything in house, router works correctly with all other devices in all rooms also next to laptop. I revert last WiFi driver to older, I revert recent BIOS update (1.5.1 back to 1.4.0), but issue still persist. Sometimes I lose connection (signal strange) or I have slow internet all the time. I running Windows 10.
But as I wrote, we didn't do anything around and also recent updates was reverted (this is to me also strange).
Have anybody same issue?

Hi maweceq,
Thanks for posting.
Apologies that you are having difficulties with your computer.'s wifi connection.
Have you tried this solution another Forum member posted?
Disable all the power saving for the wifi card.
Specifically,
1. go into control panel/hardware and sound/power options/edit setting.
2. click on advanced power settings.
3. Scroll down to Wireless Adapter settings
4. on power saving mode, set On battery to Maximum Performance. Set Plugged in to Maximum Performance
Another suggestion might be to purchase a USB wifi adapter and see if there is an improvement. The USB models are pretty small and unobtrusive, and fairly low priced.
If none of that is working for you, then please contact Dell Tech Support if you still have warranty on the system. If not, you can contact our Out of Warranty department for assistance.
You can contact Tech Support at 1-800-624-9896 or 1-800-288-4410, or you can initiate a chat session http://del.ly/6594DD03r

Hi Robert,
I see no problem to test with wifi dongle if speed is different (as I mentioned initially I tried it from same place from several devices and only slow was my XPS. On the other hand this suggestion is a bit out in case that you want to say, if internal adapter doesn't work properly, buy some dongle and keep original adapter in bad performance.
Regarding changing saving mode, this is first I did, but not worked. Also I never have this issue before in any scenarios on any poweer management level on plug or on battery.
Finally, as I was ugly that there is something wrong with my XPS (which I love so much), I dig deeper into all the settings. And found some setting for WiFi adapter which I changed and now everything works perfectly as usual and also I updated back to 1.5.0 BIOS and Windows again update WiFi adapter driver.
My solution:
1. Device Manager -> Network Adapters
2. Right click on WiFi adapter "Dell Wireless 1830 802.11 ac" -> Properties
3. Going to Advanced tab
4. In a list found Power Output and set value to 100%
Confirm/close dialog by clicking OK buttons
After this change WiFi signal and speed comes back to normal as before. I don't know why but this was set to 75% when I found it. I don't know if this was set also before to 75% or if driver update make this chance but I am happy that I found the root cause and solved issue .

I don't see a power output in my list...do you have any other ideas? I have made sure the drivers are all up to date. My speed is so bad! like dial up bad. 2.8 on a speed test. Yet my phone, which is sitting right next to it is running 385.02 on the download. help

On windows 10 this solved it for me on youtube not loading 4k and 1080P fast like my other PC:
Open:
Power & Sleep
Go to Additional Power Settings
Hit Change Plan Settings
Select Change Advanced Power Settings
Hit the + on PCI Express
Hit the + on Link State Power Management
Turn both off.
Set Wireless adapter to Low Power Saving.
This gave me almost 20Mbit versus 1Mbit on youtube.
