wi-fi half the speed than on cable (DELL Inspiron 5567)

Hello,

Recently purchased a Dell Inspirion 5567 and have problem with the wi-fi speed working to half of the amount (or less).

Via cable I have 100 mbps, via wi-fi i have max 45 mbps.

Tried updating the drivers for the Wi-Fi card, switching the wi-fi options under advanced to different value (but don't have 802.11n Mode available).

Any ideas?

Thanks Jesse. The thing is that with the previous laptop (Sony Vaio) I am getting close to 100 mbps.

Both laptops have SSD,.

I even get more speed on my phone (Samsung S7).. around 80 mbps..

gheatzz,

Wifi speeds are not going to be the same as a wired connection. 45mbps is a pretty good speed. You may also try  changing the channel on your router.  That may help some.

Did you figure anything out on this?

I am having the same problem. I just received my brand new Dell Inspiron 15 i5565-A879 Notebook. All my wireless wi-fi devices logon to my router at >60 Mbs (even my 4 year old tablet) - but my new Dell Notebook only logs on at <25Mbs. So I took the computer to a friend’s house, and we have the exact same issue.

I am not using Power Saving mode in Windows, and just in case I changed both profiles to keep Wireless at maximum even when on battery. Still, the WiFi is super slow on both routers I tested.

Please help before I return the computer!
