WD19TB Dock Ethernet Connection Not Working with Thinkpad X1 Carbon

Hi,

I recently purchased the Dell Docking Station (WD19TB) for use with my Thinkpad X1 Carbon. At the beginning after setting everything up there was no issues with the device as everything was working perfectly fine. However, over time I noticed my laptop now connects to the home WI-FI since it does not detect the ethernet connection of the docking station. I checked the ethernet cable that routes from my home modem to the docking station and it works when I directly plug in the laptop to it. When the ethernet cable is placed directly into the docking station that is when the ethernet connection gets cut off to my laptop. I'm not sure if the docking station is defected (most likely not) or if there is an update of some sort that I need to download? Look forward to any help.
