truemobile 2300 expand range

I have two truemobile 2300 routers.  I have one set up connected to the internet and connected to a desktop and wireless.  The second is currently setup as a wireless bridge however, my signal range is not very good in my apartment.  I am wondering if I can set it up so that it is connected directly to the 1st router using the cat5 network i have setup in my walls to expand the range of the 2nd router.  which port do i plug the cat5 into on the 2nd router?  what settings do i need to enable on each of the routers?  please advise.  thank you

I am doing this with an SMC and D-Link wireless routers.  When you want to add the second 2300, you have two options.  Configure it to be an AP and run the Cat5 from the LAN of the one to the LAN of the other.  The second option is to leave it a router, disable the firewall capability of it, change its LAN address to one that is not in the range of the first 2300 (it will be 192.168.2.1 I believe, make the second one 192.168.3.1), and hook the Cat5 from its Internet (WAN) port to the LAN port of the first 2300.  I used the second scenereo because of the limitations of the routers I have.

Hope you don't mind me jumpin' in.  Would two 2300's have better signaling than one 2300 and a 1300 usb 2.0 adapter?

Thanks Charlie

Better than what?  Depends on the layout, area to cover, construction, distances, etc.

If you use one 2300 as just a router, then the other set up in the AP mode, you can wire it at a remote location to improve wireless coverage.  The User Guide explains putting the 2300 into AP mode.
