Replacement for 1707BGN wireless card, Inspiron 15 5555

Have an Inspiron 15 5555 (AMD CPU) with DW1707BGN wireless card. Want to replace it with an AC card if possible. Tried an Intel 7265 based on a thread I read here.   It would never start no matter how many drivers I tried. I read somewhere else it won't work with an AMD CPU, only Intel. Anyone know of a way to get it to work or, failing that, a different AC card that will work without gymnastics? Thanks for looking at this.
