Remote desktop connection
Hi,
I am trying to connect to my home computer from work, through "Remote desktop connection" Both systems are running Windows XP Pro. At Home, I have a WRT54G Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router. I have tried a number of different ways to connect, but can never get through. I understand the router has to be confirured to let me acess, my home computer. I also have Norton Internet Security on my system. The Windows firewall is disabled. Can you help me thruogh this tangle to be able to acess my home computer, and still keep my security strong?

According to the best source of port forwarding information I know of, PortForward.com, TCP and UDP ports 3389 need to be forwarded to your PC from the router. Here's their description of the Linksys WRT54G setup. Note the recommendation that the PC to which the ports are forwarded be given a static IP address.
You'll also need to allow inbound connections to UDP and TCP ports 3389 in your Norton Internet Security firewall setup.
