QLogic as a networking adapter
Hi.
I hope this will be simple question to answer.
Is it possible to use QLogic QLE2462 card as a standard networking adapter? I now own one and never used any before so no clue if this is even possible.

chavez2,
If your computer supports the card. You do not mention the system that you are wanting to add the card into.

Sorry. The card was bought with a T710 Dell server. It was allready installed and probably worked togother before the unit was decommissioned. I have a Netger GS724TPS switch at work and I am wondering if I could make use of it. 4gbits seems tempting.

QLE2462 is a fibre channel card. it will not work with an Ethernet switch.

Even if the switch have fiber ports? What about something called converged connection?

QLE2462 is not a Converged adapter (CNA). It can only connect to a fiber channel switch port. The Netger GS724TP does not have any Fiber channel ports.
