No wifi, Internet or bluetooth
I am running an Inspiron 3520 with windows 7 home premium. I shut it down and when I re started it I have no wifi or Bluetooth. I tried hard wiring it to the modem and still nothing. I went to device manager and there is a yellow flag next to Dell wireless 1703. 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz). When I right click it I get this message: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. ( code 52) I have not added or changed anything. What is the problem and what can I do about it? Thank you very much

Hi
! if reinstalling drivers didn't work, you can also try rebooting to repair options by pressing f8 on boot up..on repair option, choose allow non digitally signed drivers then continue to boot up. If still nothing works, go to device manager, uninstall drivers with yellow flag. disable your wifi by pressing fn+f2 keys. Then re-enable it by pressing again the same keys. On the upper part of device manager page, click on action tab and select scan for hardware changes..DELL-Todd S

Hi,
Sounds like something is corrupting your Windows registry or drivers when your system either is running or when you shut it down. I'm not sure what it is, but it could be malware, virus, or something else. You might want to consider doing a reinstall of Windows to try to clear up whatever is causing the problem.

Hello,
It just sounds like the driver crashed and needs to be updated. Here is a link to the Win7 driver for the Dell 1703 wireless card. If you download and install the new driver you should be good to go.
Let us know if you have any problems.

Didn't work. I think it's the card itself. Thank you for your help.

When I hit f8 on boot up it says repair your computer when I hit that it goes to system recovery options where I select keyboard input, U.S., then it says to access command prompt log on using admin account or to access recovery options log on as local user. Under user name I have 2 choices one is HomeGroupUser$ and the other is Ours, what I named the computer. Both ask for a password. I know the HomeGroupUser password but there isn't one for ours. Am I at the right place if so which do I choose?

Try this second part and see if it helps. I doubt it's the card itself, unless it was physically damaged in some way.

When you get to the options on which user account to use for the repair function, and one of the options is "ours", can you simply hit enter without entering a password? I thought Win7 required a password for all user accounts but you may have been able to create that account without one.
If that doesn't work, you may want to try and reseat the card itself. Here is a link to the online user manual for the Inspiron 3520. Instructions on how to reseat the card start on page 25, but you would need to first remove the keyboard (page 15).
Here is a video on how to repair Windows 7 that may be more helpful explaining the process.

Fixed it. I was hitting the repair button then I looked under the repair button and found the allow non digitally signed drivers, although it's not worded like that, but now it's working. Thank You

ok so now I shut down my computer and when restarted it was back to no wifi so I had to do the F8 thing again. Is this going to happen every time I restart or is there something I should do to keep it right?

I'm glad it resolved your problem. Also don't forget to scan your windows for corrupted files. Type
sfc /scannow
in command prompt running under admin rights. It scans and repairs any corrupted windows files.

So I guess I'm good?
