MS5320W Mouse - scroll wheel not working after one minute of inactivity

I purchased the Dell Premier Multi Device Wireless Keyboard and Mouse KM7321W. Everything is working fine with one exception:

The scroll wheel of the mouse doesn't work after about 60 seconds of mouse inactivity. After moving the mouse or clicking a mouse button the scroll wheel is working again.
The issue is reproducable and occurs on every connected computer (Bluetooth or USB dongle).

Is this a known issue?

Mouse Firmware Version 0.0.1.6

I am having the exact same issue and it is really distracting. It is a fine mouse, but this makes it frustrating to use when you are reading a long article and don't move the mouse for 60 seconds.

Are there any plans to address this issue in a firmware update?

The mouse is still on 0.0.1.6 firmware.

Hi vp17,

after dozens of messages with DELL support members here they told me, that this behavior is some kind "state-of-the-art". IMHO it's not worth the effort to discuss this issue further...

I bought a non-Dell wireless mouse that doesn't suffer from this particular issue, and this mouse is reliable even in a WiFi-contaminated environment. The MS5320W doesn't work very well in such a situation.

I can share details via PM.

Is this still and Issue?

If it is I am returning mine and getting my money back. A non-functioning scroll wheel is a broken product.

Installed on both my homebuilt, 6 year old PC and my new Dell XPS 1600. So far so good, no issues at all. Installation could be explained in a little more detail, but maybe just cause I am a 71 year old guy.
