Issues syncing Dell Mouse MS5320W to replacement dongle

Issues syncing Dell Mouse MS5320W to replacement dongle

Hi all,

I just purchased a "Dell Universal Pairing Receiver – WR221" from your site.

I see "Dell Multi-Device Wireless Mouse – MS5320W"(which is the mouse I have) is listed as a compatible device.

I can connect to my mouse to the computer via bluetooth, but every time I walk away for a few minutes, it get's stuck in limbo where my computer remembers the device but can't connect. So I need to forget the mouse, restart bluetooth on the computer, make sure the mouse is in pairing mode, and re-pair.

I got the replacement dongle to eliminate this issue.

I went through several permutations of plugging, unplugging, turning on, turning off, and waiting but wasn't able to get the mouse to sync to the dongle.

As an example, this is the one I would expect to work

  1. Start with Mouse off, dongle unplugged
  2. Plugged dongle in to computer
  3. Turned on mouse
  4. Waited - Nothing
  5. Ensure mouse was set to use device 1 (The one with the "Dell Universal pairing icon")
  6. Waited - Still nothing

Tried restarting computer, plugging dongle in after the mouse was on, etc, nothing worked.

I saw in the comments that some people needed to install "Dell Peripheral Manager" to get the mouse to re-sync with a new dongle.

Great, I went to install it which went fine, but now DPM won't open...

I am on a Mac laptop with MacOS 15.5 (which is on the supported OS list).

There is a new icon related to DPM in the top status bar that shows a screen and a triangle exclamation point (The furthest left of the right set of icons in the image below).

When I click it I get a menu with most of the options greyed out except "exit", "uninstall", "refresh".

When I click refresh, the triangle exclamation point turns to a magnifying glass for a few seconds then back to the triangle.

When I click exit and reopen, it yields the same result.

When I click uninstall, it asks to install a helper. When I allow this, nothing happens and the app is still there.

I just want my mouse to work consistently. I do not need DPM, but am happy to use if needed for set up.

Please help me pair my mouse to this new dongle because it's listed as supported.

BTW, I have seen this support page -
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000126840/dell-multi-device-wireless-keyboard-and-mouse-bluetooth-connection-and-pairing-to-pc?lang=en

But when I click -

"""

> NOTE: When you must re-pair your Mouse or Keyboard to the USB dongle, see the Dell Knowledge

> Base article Dell Peripheral Manager Usage and Troubleshooting.

"""

It says the document isn't available. Very frustrating.
