You can't permanently "delete" an IP address, as they are fundamental to network communication. However, you can release and renew your IP address, which effectively disconnects you from your current network and reconnects you with a new one, potentially changing your public IP. You can also use a VPN to mask your IP address by routing your traffic through a different server.
Here's a breakdown of how to release and renew your IP address (on Windows):
Open Command Prompt: Search for "Command Prompt" in the Windows search bar and open it.
Release the IP address: Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Renew the IP address: Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Flush the DNS (optional): Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter. This clears your computer's cached DNS information.
Close Command Prompt: Type exit and press Enter.
Restart (optional):
To use a VPN to hide your IP address:
Choose a VPN provider: There are many VPN services available, both free and paid. Research and choose one that meets your needs.
Download and install the VPN software: Follow the instructions provided by your chosen VPN provider.
Connect to a VPN server: Launch the VPN software and connect to a server in your desired location.
Verify your IP: Use an online tool to check your IP address and confirm it has changed to the VPN server's IP.
