Internet Explorer Issues

Does anyone know why I get this message from Internet Explorer when I log onto my computer OR if I browse the internet for things?  The message reads:  Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  Than when I click the close button, I am booted off the internet.  I cannot seem to get an answer why this is happening.  Can anybody help?  Thanks

It's probably caused by spyware or other internet parasites.   But, to be sure, when you get the error message, click on the link in the error message to show the details of the error report.   Read the error report and write down and report here the AppName and ModName involved in the error.

The Appname is 1explore.exe.  The Modname is yshortcut.dll  Hope that helps!

yshortcut.dll is part of Yahoo Messenger.  Unisntall Yahoo Mesenger and see if the problem goes away. If it does, try reinstalling it and see if the problem is solved.

Hi Steve,

Guess what?  It is still doing the same thing.  I still am getting the IE sign that says it has experienced a problem and needs to close.  I forgot to hit details to see what the name and app said but I will  next time it does it.  Any other suggestions as to what it can be?

Thanks Karen
