Dell XPS 15 and TB16 - Wired Ethernet

I have a Dell XPS 15 running Windows 11. When it is in Desktop "Mode" it is connected to a TB16 along with a much larger monitor. The laptop display functions as a second monitor. My problem has to do with the wired Ethernet. It does not work. The WiFi is the only network connection that works, both in laptop mode and desktop mode (attached to the TB 16). I have looked at numerous posts (both Dell community and others), but none of the proposed solutions work.  Any remedies will be much appreciated. I purchased the laptop and docking station as a package. When first installed, the wired connection did work. To the best of my knowledge all drivers and BIOS are up to date.
