Dell Wireless ANC Headset - WL7024 - ANC mode has a loud white noise coming from left speaker
I bought two of these headsets. One of the headsets immediately had this issue when in ANC mode. I updated the firmware for both the dongle and the headset but that didn't seem to solve the issue. I exchanged one of the headsets with a new one and I haven't experienced a problem since.
Now the other headset is experiencing the same problem a few weeks in. Do I have to exchange the headset?

I have the same issue from first unboxing. It's only with ANC on, unfortunately very annoying but otherwise the headset is pretty awesome.

I have the same issue on my WL7024, purchased in April 2024.
Do you have a solution, such as discharging the battery completely? Is it possible to reset the headset to factory settings? The instructions from Dell (press the on/off button for 10 seconds) did not work.

The WL7024 is dangerous.
I am now terrified of enabling ANC on my WL7024, purchased 2024-07-22 online from the Dell store.
It randomly (and now regularly) explodes sound out of the left speaker, to the degree that coworkers across the office asked what that strange noise was. It is an unbelievably loud noise and would definitely cause hearing damage. I've been caught by it twice now.
Audio recording using my phone:

I also intermittently (but very regularly) experience the the white noise coming from the left speaker (when it's not exploding the above noise). It appeared to start quieter then slowly get louder:

Until it finally pops:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/416tr2knfnyuv9o/Dell+WL7024+ANC+static+pop.mp3/file
Then it either disappears for a bit, or starts the cycle again, getting louder. Although, twice it has popped but the static stayed loud.
Firmware 1.4.4.0
Application 1.7.6
The android app v1.0.3 also fails to connect. It just gets stuck at the "Searching for headset" screen then says "Unable to find your headset".
I have tried holding the power button for 10 seconds multiple times, from both a powered and unpowered state. The issues persist. I have also tried using the reset option via Dell Peripheral Manager.

Was there a solution to this? Is everyone still dealing with the loud white noise on the left speaker in ANC mode?

@CandyCaneBane
How did you get yours replaced under warranty? Navigating through all the Dell pages and searches only brought up service requests for laptops. Did you initiate it with the Dell virtual chat?
The WL7024 page states that there's a 3 Year Limited Hardware with Advanced Exchange Service so I'm hoping I can get a replacement as well.

@Kai Kursten I missed all these messages. My partner is using the headset with the white noise. I never found a solution. My replacement so far has been good. I also want to know how to get my partners headset replaced.
To me this is unacceptable quality for the price of these headsets.

@CandyCaneBane wow that's terrible. I hope you get a replacement or your full money back. It's really unacceptable quality.

Honestly, I don't exactly remember how i managed to get through (maybe it was the angry email), but i was initially given the full runaround multiple times. First time trying, i couldn't work out where to contact for warranty so i called any number i could find, spoke to someone and they created a ticket for me. That got rejected as "wrong department"...
Hardest part is actually finding out how to contact dell - they really bury it deep and make claiming warranty excessively hard.

I was somewhat frustrated (partial extract):
"This ticket was created by a Dell staff member on my behalf.
I am getting tired of constantly being redirected. I have already tried to use the website multiple times. It directed me to call a number. That number refused to serve me and directed me to different number.
That second number refused to serve me and directed me TO THE SAME WEBSITE THAT YOU ARE NOW REDIRECTING ME TOWARDS. I MANAGED TO FIND A CHAT MECHANISM. THIS CHAT DIRECTED ME BACK TO THE WEBSITE. AT THAT POINT I REFUSED TO BE REDIRECT AGAIN. THEY CREATED THIS TICKET."
When i eventually got a tech support ticket, communication was with

@DELL-Nat M How am I supposed to use the help now if headphones don't have a service tag?

@patalita Hi! If the user doesn't provide a service tag, the case will be automatically assigned to an agent after some time. Let me know if you still need assistance!

Service tag is inside the headphones. I don't remember which side. Maybe right side since that has the power buttons.
You need to pull the cushion off to see it. Feels a bit dodgy to do, but just gently give it a tug and some plastic clips will unlatch.
