Dell WD19S Dock - no line out?
Hi all,
I currently have a D6000 dock, which was working fine on my old Lenovo laptop, but is now causing performance issues on my new HP laptop. This is likely down to the fact the D6000 uses DisplayLink technology and perhaps my new laptop isn't optimised for DisplayLink. I don't know to be honest - my new laptop was supposed to be more powerful than my old one 🤷♂️
Anyway I'm looking to purchase a non-DisplayLink dock and the WD19S seems to be a good candidate. One thing I noticed, however, with this dock is that it doesn't have a line out port. That seems quite strange - how would I connect my speakers to the dock? I know I can just connect them directly to the laptop, but I would have preferred to connect everything to the dock.
So I understand you can get USB to 3.5mm adapters, but is that going to output the same quality audio as a line out port would? The speakers I have are 2.1 Logitech speakers and they don't have a USB connection.
Would appreciate if someone can advise on the options I have.
