Dell vostro 2521 with Dell Wireless 1704 802.. not picking up hotspot from mobile device
As above, i have a dell vostro 2521 with a Dell Wireless 1704 802.. and bluetooth adapter. I just bought a new android phone, a Ulefone note 7p running android 9.1.
The wifi adapter is not picking up my mobile wifi hotspot for this phone.
(I did manage to get it working once or twice but since then nothing)
What I've tried:
- Resetting the hotspot and network on both the mobile device and laptop,
- using 2,4ghz and 5 ghz connections for the android device,
- installing and uninstalling all versions of the Dell Wireless 1704 802,.. drivers,
- installing android wifi apps.
- Googling everything i can
- im not making any headway.. Oh yes i also tried another mobile network provider.
So it does pick up the hotspot from my other phone using any mobile network. The main problem is that my new phone uses 4g network and the older phone uses 3g network, other then this i can see any difference between them..
Out of desperation now, ive registered here for help.. I have the latest driver for the 1704 adapter.
Im running windows 10 64 bit and the phone is running android 9.1 with the latest update.
