Dell SmartByte Application
Hi when i open this app on my new pc it shows it is out of date and i click yes to get up date but the dell update page when asks for my service tag it says this
This driver is not compatible

do i need the app on the pc as other topics on here say it slows the internet speed down what is it for??
and if so how do i fully remove it as some have found it back the next day??

I've just uninstalled Smartbyte after landing here due to my DELL Inspiron 7577 becoming unbelievably sluggish over the last week or so after installing Picolog 6. It's now running like a new system.
I've restarted several times since and thankfully it hasn't returned...yet.
Dell, why are you still pre-installing this problematic, unnecessary bloatware?
