Dell Monitor s2719dc - choppy audio when using a Plantronics bluetooth headset

I am currently using a Surface Book 2 that is connected to Dell monitor S2719DC using Surface Dock.  What I am noticing since i got the monitor is that the audio is choppy when using Plantronics Voyager Focus UC Stereo Bluetooth Headset.  

I have tried using the headset without the monitor and it works fine, as soon as I plugin the monitor using the surface dock or hdmi using an adapter directly to the laptop i start getting choppy broken sound.  I ensured I am using the correct playback audio device - Headphones (PLT Focus Stereo).  

No issues in device manager with any of the connected components and I also have the latest and greatest drivers for headset, monitor, and the general windows 10 updates.  Any ideas?
