Dell Inspiron P58f Network adaptor "gone"
My Dell Inspiron laptop which I have had for under a year appears to have "lost" its network adaptor card. Here are the things I have tried
- Uninstalled the antivirus/firewall - Avast
- Tried all of the steps described here
- Attempted all recovery options offered by Windows/Dell - other than doing a clean wipe of all user files
- Entered BIOS where it reports
- Bios Version 1.20
- Wifi Device (none)
- Bluetooth Device (none)
- I have tried restoring BIOS to factory defaults but to no avail
I have a feeling that there have been progressive issues with the network adaptor on the machine in question for a while now
- Connecting up with my Wifi network on startup/awake from sleep would take several minutes
- The machine has been consistently refusing to recognize my wireless printers for several weeks
- And now I find that it appears to think that it has no network adaptor installed at all
I hope that someone here will be able to suggest a fix to these issues.

Hi UnyteLux,
Thanks for posting.
Apologies that your computer is not working as expected.
Since you've not posted the model number or the operating system you're using, I'll post some general tips which may be helpful. http://dell.to/2zrj5V0

Also, have you tried an external USB wifi to see if it's the internal card? Does this happen on the wired ethernet as well?

Hi Dell-RobertP,
I am not sure why you feel that I did nto specify the model number - it is stated in the title to my post. I double checked just in case I had made a mistake - the label on the base of my laptop clearly states
Reg Model: P58F
Reg Type No: P58F001
The computer runs Windows 10. I visited the links you indicate above - many of them return 404s so they have not helped. I have no access to wired ethernet. I have ordered a USB wifi card so I should now whether that does anything.
However, the key fact is this - the BIOS reports that I have neither networking or bluetooth on the machine. Sounds like a hardware fault to me.
