Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series cannot connect with 5G Wifi
HI All,
I have purchased Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop today and I am unable to connect 5G and it is not showing 5G network ID in wifi list at all.. Instead, it is showing only 2G Wifi List.
Can someone kindly assist on this to resolve this issue.

TVBHKISHORE,
Login to the Router Admin Page
Click on "Wireless" on the menu on the left
Click on "Professional" tab
Select the "5GHz" band
Select "Enable Radio" = "No"
Click Apply
After it has been applied, go and select "Enable Radio" = "Yes"
Click Apply
If needed you will need to contact your ISP.

Anyone find a solution to this. I have a 3 day old Dell Inspiron with nothing else custom installed on it except for Google Chrome. And pleas stop directing other similar questions in this forum to this page citing this is the solution, because it is not. I have 2 macs, 2 older laptops (Acer and HP), and a bunch of other devices, and none of them have any issues connecting to a 5 Ghz network. This is not a router or windows 10 issue, its a problem with the Dell hardware. For once, Dell Support, please accept its your issue and provide a solution please. That would help a great way in keeping a customer or I am returning the hardware back. I am still under the 30 day return period.

I have the same issue. Tried the fix suggested, but it doesn't work. My 5G network doesn't show up and my 2G network doesn't even connect. This laptop is less than a week old. Please suggest a fix.

Just got this laptop and have the same issue to some extent. My laptop is seeing my neighbors 2G networks but not mine. It is not seeing my 5G(tried 20/40/ and 80 mhz) settings on my router with no luck. I tried changing one network back to b/g,/bg but the laptop still doesn't see it. Both Android's(one stock and one using custom room) see the 5g and connect. I thought this might be a driver issue but I grabbed the latest driver from dell.com and it still doesn't see my networks with various settings applied. Oh and smart TV sees 5G as well.

Any update solution yet?
I have the same issue with my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop as well. It see 2G but cannot connect. It stays at "connecting" forever. AND I have two 5G networks at home but none of those shows in this laptop. Other devices like HP laptop, Toshiba laptop, MacBook, iPhone, Android can see the 5G networks fine.

I am having the same issue. My Dell that I purchased on 6/29/20 can only see the 2.4 GHZ and does not detect the 5GHZ wireless network signal. I opened the device manager and went to the network adapter and all that is on my computer to receive a signal is the Dell Wireless 2.4. I do not have the ability to identify the 5G wireless signal. Can anyone tell me how to install or load the necessary receiver in my device manager?

Follow below steps to see if wireless card of your desktop/laptop supports 5G or not. I also faced same issue with my newly purchased Dell desktop, but then figured out that 5G was not supported by the wireless card. Dell guys suggested me to get the wireless card upgraded.

It should show details like this:
Dell Wireless 1707 Card (802.1 1BGN + Bluetooth 4.0, 2.4 GHz)

Did you get any answer from DELL? I see a few people with same issue, I am one of them, 5G disappeared one day and never came back. All my other computers and gadgets connect well to my 5G network, even another DELL MODEL I have for work. What is going on with DELL Inspiron 15 3000 series? Is this model supposed to connect to 5G or not?
