CardBus Mode not supported by Firmware

I am trying to install a Belkin Pre-N Wireless Desktop Card (F5D8010)in my Dell XPS 600. The internal portion of the card/adapter installed in the PCI slot and is recognized and device manager says its working and has proper drivers. When I try to insert the Wireless Card into the adaptor slot I get a warning from Microsoft System that the Ricoh Compatible Card recognizes that there is a card inserted but the firmware does not support CardBus Mode. It won't recogize the card and I can't load the drivers. I have the most current drivers from Belkin (Ver1002. I have seen others ask this question on other sites but no answer.

that is a pc-card, correct?  and you're trying to put it into a desktop?  did the pci to pc-card converter card you're using come bundled with the belkin card?  it sounds like it excepts pcmcia cards only, not cardbus cards

This is a Belkin Desktop Network Card which includes two parts - The internal PCI card/adapter to install in the computer PCI slot and then what is actually labeled a "Notebook Network" card to slide into the PCI card through its slot in the back of the computer. They came together in the same box.

in that case I would call belkin...  if it came bundled in the same package then I'm sure they support it that way

edit: of course, if by same box you meant that a 3rd party retailer just sold them together, you may have issues
