Can't ping default gateway with Centrino Advanced-N 6235 on XPS 12 but CAN connect to Internet

I have an XPS 12 with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wireless card.  I can't ping the default gateway with the wireless card.  When I use a USB-Network adaptor, I can ping the default gateway for the wired connection.  I can connect to the Internet and internal network with the wireless card and can ping other computers on the network.  I am trying to run a program to connect wirelessly to a projector.  I have two different programs for two different projectors.  I can connect wired, but not wirelessly.  I'm thinking the problem is whatever is not allowing me to ping the default gateway or something on the wireless card.  I have a Latitude 10 with a Broadcom wireless card that is connected to the same AP and can ping the default gateway and can connect to both projectors wirelessly.  They both have Window 8 Pro.

I've downloaded the new drivers from Dell, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to have Windows update install the drivers, all with no success. Any ideas?

Found the problem/solution by accident.  I was logged into the computer with a different network user account than what was used to authenticate to the wireless.  When I switched the user account so the user account that was logged into the computer was the same that was authenticating to the wireless, it worked.  Go figure!

zickdl,

The Intel 6235 adapter may have problems with the newer drivers, on a Windows 8 system. I have been reading the posts at Intel's Community.

Download these drivers and save them to your desktop.

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/xps-12-l221x?driverId=H58TM&fileId=3289417886&osCode=W864

Make a system restore point.

Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, device manager, network, right click on Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wireless card, left click uninstall. Tell it to remove the software and drivers.

Restart your computer. When you log in, the new hardware wizard will try to install the drivers. Install the drivers you saved to the desktop.

Try these tweaks....

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your network adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.

I tried that.  It did not help.  I still can't ping the default gateway or connect to the projectors.  The firewall is turned off on the computer.  Any other ideas?
