Can't find the right discussion board, but why is the Dell Alienware Pro headset so loud?

If I set the volume to, say, 6, it sounds as loud as setting the volume to around 60 on another headset. Turning the dial on the side of the headset doesn't work since that only affects the device's volume. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
