5150 reinstall network controller driver problems

Lost a harddrive yesterday, replacement on came in the mail today. XP home edition reinstalled from a bought copy. All drivers went in okay, but the network controller failed everytime during set up.

I installed the chipset first as per other suggestions on this board. Still nothing.

Internet works fine on LAN line, but third party wireless card is not registering.

Many uninstalls/reinstalls tried on drivers. Still nothing.

Is there a chance I have something else dead on the montherboard?

Anythoughts or help beyond 'reinstall drivers from Dell.com'?

Are you sure you have the latest driver for that card?  What brand is it?

You might also look at reinstalling the Notebook system software also.

Use the Windows Zero Configuration to manage the connection, not the Microsoft Card Software.

I the driver for the card (Microsoft mn-720) is fine. The actually 'network controller'driver shown on the device manger under my computer is showing up as being unloaded . When I go through the steps to install, it keeps saying it can't find the right software.
