VRRP on both Dell switch 4064F acting as masters

Hi Dell Team,

I need your help please. I am stuck in my configuration. We have 2 Dell layer 3 switches (acting as router for our network), There are 3 VRRP configurations there and working fine, one master and one back up.

Last week for testing I had configured the VRRP for the interface vlan 1x which has no active nodes in this vlan, config looks good one Dell sw01 acts as master and Dellsw02 acts as backup as we expected.

Yesterday I had requested an outage. I implemented 3 new VRRP with the same config for the live interfaces vlan 2x, vlan3x, vlan4x, but in both switches VRRP shows as a master. I can ping from both switches to the vlan interface IPs. In DellSW01 when I ping the interface IP on DellSW02 I can see the  Mac address of VRRP. But when I ping from DCSW02 the vlan interface IP on DCSW01 I can't see the VRRP virtual Mac address.

Please assist me in resolving this issue. Please let me know if you require any further information.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi @Sfathi,

Could you verify your steps for setting up VRRP according to guide  https://dell.to/3KNgh6g. Do take note about the preempt settings on the same guide.

What OS are you running on the switches?

Dear Joey,

Thank you for the reply. This issue has been resolved. I tried "no vrrp x mode" under the interface and then the state went to initializing then again "vrrp x mode"  then the state was changed to Backup mode on secondary switch

Thank you for being there!

Have a great day ahead!

Cheers
