VLT interface links spanning tree

Hi,

I followed this guide to setup a standard VLT configuration between two S4112 switches.

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-au/000102901/dell-emc-networking-os10-how-to-set-up-virtual-link-trunking-vlt

I have 2 100g dac cables configured as the disocvery interfaces.

When I plug in the second DAC cable spanning tree seems to go crazy and after a few minutes the switches have frozen.

SAH-CORE1# show spanning-tree brief
Spanning tree enabled protocol rapid-pvst with force-version rstp

I note that when i run show spanning tree brief, the discovery interfaces are not present. Is there something specific i need to run to prevent spanning tree with the VLT interfaces?

Hi, I checked below two articles. Please be sure of these steps. VLTi interface manages VLAN tagged/untagged traffic automatically between peers1. Manually adding any VLAN configuration has been shown to disrupt traffic flow. If a VLAN configuration has been added to the VLTi, the recommended recovery procedure is as follows for both VLT members:

  • Remove the VLAN configuration from the interface
  • Save the configuration
  • Reload the VLT member
