VLT behaviour while restart switch(es)
Hello everyone,
I have two switches Z9100-ON that are connected by VLT. I will be greatfull that somemone explain me, how does the VLT work when the primary and the backup switch are restarted? What should be the correct behavior (in network, hosts conectivity) when restarting the master switch and what should be the correct behavior when restarting the backup switch?
I noticed that in my case, restarting the backup switch meant that nothing was working on the network until it was booted. In total, when the main switch was restarted, something in the network also did not work.
Between the switch ports (connected via VLT) I have LAGI created with the servers. Shouldn't it be the case that in the event of a restart of one of the switches (be it main or backup) everything should work without any interruption?
Maybe some parameter in the VLT configuration is responsible for this? Maybe "delay-resotre timer"?
Regarding my VLT configuration, for example, the command "show vlt mismach" does not show anything.
I would be grateful for an explanation regarding the operation of the VLT in the event of a restart of primary and backup switch .
Should you require any configuration information, please let me know.
Your faithfully,
Marek

M4rek11.
As long as it is configured correctly then it should fail over to the backup. That being said I would highly recommend that you call in to support, as they would be able to work directly to assist in the configuration.
Let me know if this helps.
