Uplink topology issues

Hi All,

We have an issue, where we are using some dell switches along side a not so cooperational networking team.

For more context we have 2 Dell switches which are in a VLT we are required to uplink to 2 networking team controlled switches (which are cisco) for redundancy. The problem with this set up is the networking team will not change anything their side to accommodate us - instead they will treat our switches as edge devices. We are finding it extremely hard to create high availability/redundancy with the VLT and the uplinks likely due to lack of knowledge in this area.

We are not sure quite how to configure our switches to achieve what we want without creating some kind of loop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Dan

Hello powerDan,

We don't usually get into New configuration on the forum.

We have Deployment Services that can be contracted through Sales if you need.

Let me see if I can find anything for you.

What are the two Dell switches and OS version and the Cisco switches?

Hi Charles, unfortunately I don't know the make/model of switches northbound one would assume they are some cheep and cheerful 10GB Cisco Switches (Catalyst Maybe) the dell switches are S5224F-ON 10.5.4.3

Hello powerDan,

It is as I suspected for this. For support on this situation you would need to call into Support and work with an engineer.

The forum is still welcome to respond to the thread.
