Setup 2724

I can't seem to get into the web management of my 2724 switches. I have a laptop configured on the same subnet and ip scheme as the default 192.168.2.1 listed in the manual, but I cannot ping or connect to the switch.  I have 6 of them and can't seem to connect to any of them. Has something changed or am I missing something obvious.

The switch default IP address is 192.168.2.1 is correct.
 
Out of the box 2724 switch is in a unmanaged mode. Once the switch is powered on, you need to press the Managed Mode Button Once, The switch reboots and changes to Web-Managed Mode and the Managed Mode LED will be illuminated Green.  Once you perform this operation, you will be able to connect to the switch and also able to ping the switch.
