Hello,

Have you tried default username, Admin (case sensitive), with no password to log in?

I will send you an Direct Message with personal information I will need.

Direct Messages are in the top right corner of the forum page.

Hello,
I have found 2 options you have:

Option 1: Factory reset via serial console

This method will erase all user information and configuration settings, restoring the KVM to its factory defaults.

  1. Connect a serial cable from the Setup port on the back of the KVM to a serial port on a PC.
  2. Use a terminal program like PuTTY to open a connection with the following settings:
  • Baud Rate: 9600
  • Data Bits: 8
  • Parity: None
  • Stop Bits: 1
  • Flow Control: None
  1. Reboot the KVM switch. As it starts up, press any key to enter the main menu.
  2. Select the Restore Factory Defaults option from the menu.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the reset.
  4. The switch will reboot. The default login will then be Admin with no password.

Option 2: Password override via technical support

If you do not want to lose all your settings, Avocent (now owned by Vertiv) can provide a one-time override password.

Vertiv: https://www.vertiv.com/en-us/support/

  1. Connect to the KVM's serial console using a terminal program as described in Option 1.
  2. Type HELP at the password dialog to obtain a 16-bit key and the KVM's EID number.
  3. Contact Avocent/Vertiv technical support. You will need to open a service request and provide identification information to prove ownership.
  4. Provide the 16-bit key and EID to the support agent. They will supply a one-time unlock code.
  5. Enter the unlock code into the terminal program to delete the old password.

HI

It is a KVM switch connected to two monitors. One of them accepts the password, but the other does not. I can access the KVM switch’s IP address, but I am unable to reset the password of that monitor KVM.
