port-channel with VLT on two S4128T-ON

Hi Community,

recently I received two S4128T-ON switches. They are running OS10 Version 10.5.3.4.108.
I setup VLT successful as far as I see (see snippets 1 and 2).
Now I want to connect these two Switches via Port-Channel to other Switches. I tried with Juniper and then with a cheap Netgear. The LACP Link doesn't come up (see snippets 3 and 4).
You can see my full configuration in snippet 5.
Maybe someone can tell me what's wrong with it.

Hello TheChosenOne,

 

Looks like the interfaces are up but inactive. I suspect that the lacp configuration does not match between the dell pair and the partner switch. The dell config looks OK as far as I can tell. This looks like some kind of partner mismatch.

 

 

Reviewed log snippets:

vlt config looks OK

port-channel 1 looks OK

eth 1/1/30 looks OK

interfaces in port-channel 1 are "member up but inactive"

this is probably due to a mismatch with partner

verify lacp configuration on peer

can dive deeper using

show lacp interface ethernet 1/1/30

and/or

show lacp port-channel interface port-channel 1

and look at actor / partner differences as well as PDUs sent and received to verify that partner is sending LACP PDUs

 

You mention this is initial configuration. That's not something we do here but we do have Deployment services you may check into.

I cant really change much on he other side. I can set LACP to active or passive. Right now I configured LACP active on DELL and Juniper end.

the problem is that the LACP isn't working. How would adding an access vlan help here?

Hi, I can't help too much but might be the LACP needs PDUs from peer device if there is a problem here it might not be working. A LACP Fallback configuration on OS10 or a configuration on the opposite device may help. What I mentioned it is on page 574 https://dell.to/3xKA7vc

I decided to switch to static aggregation. That works. Thanks for you support anyway!
