Older Powerconnect allow password SSH over CLI, but deny using script
I'm trying to write some scripts to gather information from our switches and we have some older Powerconnect 2500 and 5500 devices that I need to include. I'm having a strange issue where manually using SSH from a CLI terminal works just fine, but attempts to SSH using a script are rejected. I can see using verbose output that when scripted I get an error in the negotiation that only public key authentication is permitted, but this same error does not occur when using a CLI and we do not use public key at all on these devices. The switch logs also show a difference with CLI having a message along the lines of, "User 'username' CLI over SSH ACCEPTED" but the scripted attempt logs show as, "User over SSH REJECTED" with no mention of CLI.
I'm not able to find any references to this behavior so far in the documentation, does anyone know of either a way to script this successfully or at least a command I can run to enable password auth over non-CLI SSH?
