Newbie configuring Powrconnrct 6224
Hi, new to world of powerconnect switching, hoping this is easy to answer. I’m trying to setup a test lab, to mimic my Cisco switch test lab. I.e. switch connects to router, obtains via dhcp an ip, put switch in l3 mode; create vlans, assign svi to vlans and route to router via gateway and inferred default route.
this works fine on a Cisco; if I want more I simply connect my switch to the router, setup a vlan, and then set my default router to my firewall.
yet I’m struggling with This on the powerconnect - the default dhcp acquired address is only for management. If I assign another vlan to the same range and use an access port to the firewall, it gives me an error. If I setup a vlan, add a server via a port, I can ping the svi, but a default route statement does not work, and I can.g ping the router.
any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Ta,
Si
