Managed switch not communicating with VLAN

I have no experience with managed switch administration, so please excuse what is likely a stupid question.

I have a home network with an OPNSense gateway and a Unifi AP. The main subnet is is 192.168.1.x and I have a VLAN configured as 10.80.4.x and set up as a guest network with its own separate SSID.

With an unmanaged switch, all this works. But I'm trying to set up a Dell PowerConnect 5448, and the devices connecting to the VLAN's SSID can't communicate with the gateway. I feel like there is probably some simple setting in the switch's admin page that is set wrong, but I'm not sure where to look.

What am I missing here?

Hi,

If you need to have the switch in managed mode, you may need to check the switch's user guide and command for switchport, vlan database, vlan access and vlan settings to be able to pass your vlan data to your vlan 10.80.4.X. My opinion is that to have the switch in unmanaged mode, hence your settings are only on OPNSense or Unifi AP.

Here are some old post examples that you can read on:

@DELL-Joey C Is unmanaged mode an option for this device?  I'd be fine with that, but I don't see anything about that in the manual.

Hi, although there is an unmanaged mode in the similar 2xxx series, I could not find any information that this is in your series PC 5448. It's an old model for me, maybe our community can help more.
