Dell SNMP Community configuration on Switch Dell EMC SmartFabric OS10
Hi everyone,
I have configured the SNMP community on Dell EMC SmartFabric OS10. However, when I try to connect to the dell switch via its IP address and port 161. The connection failed and showed the error -203 No response. I used Paessler SNMP Tester software for testing purposes.
Is the default port on the dell switch 161?
Does anyone know how to configure SNMP on this switch? I followed the tutorial from Dell as well.
Also, does anyone know how to generate remote EngineID in SNMP v3?
Thank you very much!

-udp-port port-number — (Optional) Enter the UDP port number on the SNMP host, from 0 to 65535.
Hope this helps.

Hi @vanhun01,
According to the documentation YoungAh mentioned, please try including the Remote Engine ID as shown in the example in page 126.

What could be the problem here? Could you please support me?

Hi Joey,
I deleted all associated users but when I delete remote engineID, it still shows the below error.

Hello vanhun01
It looks like you removed 0xdefa
Are you trying to remove the other three?
no snmp-server engineID remote 172.16.42.69 udp-port 162 0x0050568ED43B
no snmp-server engineID remote 172.16.42.69 udp-port 161 0x0050568ED43B

Hello vanhun01,
That is strange if you have removed the users it still says you have to remove associated users before deleting.
What is the switch model you are working with?
What do you see for output of these commands:
OS10(config)# do show snmp engineID remote
OS10(config)# do show snmp group
OS10(config)# do show snmp user
OS10(config)# do show snmp view
The no version of this command removes a user from the SNMP group.
OS10(config)# no snmp-server user privuser v3group v3 auth md5

Hi Charles,
Ofcourse, I know the command and I know how it works. Look at the pic, I show the inventory and software and Os version and so on..
I deleted all the users and the groups already. As you can see that show user and show group displays nothing right?
As you can see in the pic below, there might be a bug:

Hi,
I added here another problems. In the second Dell switches. I configure the same and I can not delete the remote engineID as well. Same error message: "Remove associated users before deleting engineID".
Also, when I add the user and group using SNMP v3. I can not query the switch. Then I deleted the user and group I just added then create again with the same user and password and it worked.
This is kind of buggy! Let's say!
I have two dell switches

Hello What is your firmware version of the OS10? Could you please bring it up to date to 10.5.4.5 (latest version)

Hi Young,
The software version is 10.5.3.0. I think it is buggy right? Could you please verify this?
My Switches are in production mode. I can not reboot it. So upgrading firmware right now is not possible!
Please look at this pic for more detail. I showed the inventory here!
Best,
Hung

Hi @vanhun01,
It seems bug. Too bad you can have a downtime. Maybe a reboot may help. If the reboot doesn't help then probably might see to schedule a time for 10.5.4.5.
