Dell N3048 and S5232F BIOS Access procedure

Dear Experts,

I am wondering if someone can help with the information and procedure to access DELL Switch BIOS.

If possible please comment on below queries

1. Can we access Dell Switch (S, N, Z series) BIOS menu ?

2.If yes can we secure the BIOS by configuring a "BIOS Login Password (Not the Boot Password)"

Many Thanks,

Alok

thanks @Praveen.Singh, I did some checking and found that it possible.

if we press F2 while the boot start, we land up in BIOS Menu as below and it will ask for the password (even if we did not set that), by default no password required to enter into BIOS setting further. (only hit enter.)

So to set the BIOS Login password we can use below.

Reboot the system ----> while booting hit F2 -----> it will ask for BIOS Password (by default no password) ===> "Security" Menu.

Alok_D,

The switches don't have a BIOS per se, it is a boot menu presented on startup, but those switches don't have a password to lock that.

Let me know if this helps.

thanks Chris ! from Above explanation it seems switch does not have a BIOS

but then How Linux Environment (OS10) loaded.

If we use below command on CLI it says Switch is Using BIOS , please comment.

so if OS10 using BIOS, how we can configure the system that only Admin (or authorized user) can change setting related to BIOS?

Thanks

Alok

Hello @Alok_D the Question you are asking is more about the core engineering of the product as per my understanding, these switches do not have BIOS so far as my knowledge.
