Dell EMC Switch n4048 hybrid mode
Hi...
I'm curious regarding setting the port in hybrid mode. have done it against firewall to get tagged traffic for different vlans and it works without a problem, but is it better to set in switch mode and only allow tagged packets?

Hello,
I may not be understanding your question. Neither one is "better," it just depends on the role you need the port to serve. I'm assuming that when you say switch mode, that you mean access mode. If you're connecting an end device, such as a server or workstation, I'd make the port an access port. Trunk ports are generally used for inter-switch connections, and hybrid ports can be used to connect most anything while also passing multiple VLANs.
Ultimately, if you need to pass multiple VLANs, you'd have to look at either a Trunk port or a hybrid port. If the device you need to pass multiple VLANs to is not a switch, I'd look at a hybrid port.

Hi...
Sorry for late response, thank you for your answer, This is the connection from the switch against the firewall so will have it as a hybrid port.
