Connecting buildings with LAG'd Ubiquiti AirFiber devices

We have a couple of outlier buildings that are connected via Ubiquiti AirFiber devices.  They have been running for a while and have been connected to a pair of S4810P switches connected together with a VLT domain.  The AF devices are connected to switch #1 and not #2.  I'm looking at getting more AF devices to connect to switch #2 and setting up a connection so the pair of AF devices for each building share the bandwidth like a LAG.  I know that a LAG (static or LACP) will not work, and was wondering if OSPF (or something else) would work and a little direction on how to setup.  The single switches at each outlier building are N4032F.  Attached is a simple pic of what I"m trying to do.  Each of the Ubiquiti AirFiber devices have their own IP addresses.  I'm assuming I would need to assign each pair of AF device sets linking the outlier buildings to their own PO channel.

There are also 4 VLANs that are the same across the whole network that I use for segregated Wi-Fi networks, they are VLAN 201-204.  I plan on using PO 70 to link BLDG-1 and PO 80 to link BLDG-2

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your network diagram and details. To achieve redundancy and load-sharing between your AirFiber devices, I recommend using OSPF for dynamic routing over your wireless links. By configuring OSPF on your S4810P and N4032F switches, each pair of AirFiber links can be seen as separate paths to the same destination, allowing OSPF to handle path selection and load balancing.

Here are the steps you should take:

Assign unique IP addresses to each AirFiber device within the same subnet.
Configure OSPF on both the S4810P and N4032F switches.
Create the necessary VLANs (201-204) across the switches and ensure they are permitted on the AirFiber links.
Monitor the OSPF routes for optimal performance and ensure all VLANs are properly tagged on the interfaces.
This will allow the network to dynamically route traffic, providing redundancy and efficient use of available bandwidth. If you need detailed configuration guidance or further assistance, please let us know.

Best regards

A little more detailed configuration would be appreciated. I'm aware I will need to assign IP addresses to the AirFiber links and assign them in the same subnet to the interfaces on the switches, but am unsure how to assign those interfaces to a PO to bind them and setup the OSPF.  I can setup the IP on the interfaces, but then cannot bind them to a LAG.  I assume that a LAG won't be needed?  Just assign the IP to interfaces, and setup OSPF without assigning to a PO?  Some of the different examples I've found don't quite fit what I need and some are far more complicated than the setup I have.

BLDG-1 link would be PO 70 and INT TE 0/45 on S4810P switches and same PO with INT TE 1/0/1-2 on N4032F

BLDF-2 link would be PO 80 and INT TE 0/46 on S4810P switches and same PO with INT TE 1/0/1-2 on N4032F

I found this, but it's far too complex that what I require.

This is closer, but assigns IPs to the VLANs instead of just the interface.  I think assigning IP to the interface would be simpler than all the VLANs that would be supported.

Or should the IP's be assigned to the PO in each switch?

SBaalman,

Unfortunatly we wouldn't be able to provide any more detailed configuration as there are Dell services that provide that level of support. I would suggest you call in and they will be able to work with you on the configuration, but it is a paid service.

Whom do I need to call to get a quote of configuration assistance?

Hi,

That would be the deployment team: https://dell.to/3Ub2Hlb
