Connect dell switch fiber port to box that has only 1 gb and rj45 port

We are connecting dell switch 5248 fiber port 1/1/40:1 that has net speed of 10gb to a device that has net speed of 1gb

And we are using tplink tl-sm331T transceiver in dell switch to connect using copper cable . We were told that dell switch is able of auto négociate with 1gb. But we found the port is still down . What is the reason and how to fix it???

TP-Link tl-sm331T transceiver, my question here is it compatible with dell 5248f model , could it be the issue here or something else?

If so please suggest a compatible transceiver or what to do as next step

Best regards

There is a 1G-BaseT with SKU 407-BBOS   and a 1/10G with 407-BDDF.   NOTE!: It looks like the 2.nd one is only  supportet when running SONIC instead of OS10.

Joerg

Model is dell os10 entreprise so you suggest using 407-BBOS

Do we require to do any command on the switch like limiting speed or just changing the transceiver and connect to box and it will do auto négociate

Some media types do not support Auto negotiation (AN), hence we can fix it by the following command sets :

Fixes :

interface ethernet 1/1/x

speed 1000

shutdown

no shutdown

exit

hope this helps, let us know if you have any further questions.
