Hi,

to set up 802.1X authentication on Dell switches and use Aruba ClearPass as your RADIUS server to handle user logins.

On the Dell Switch:

  • First, enable 802.1X globally.
  • Then configure it on the specific ports you want to secure.
  • Point the switch to your ClearPass server using its IP address and shared secret.

On ClearPass:

  • Add the Dell switch as a RADIUS client.
  • Set up an authentication source (like Active Directory).
  • Create a service for 802.1X Wired authentication and define your access policies.

This setup lets you control who gets network access based on credentials, certificates, or even device type. Works great for securing wired access in enterprise environments.

Hope that helps!
