Cisco Server vic to dell Switch n4064F
Hey Folks,
Looking to see if anyone has done this and gotten it to work.
I have 3 Cisco UCS servers all with 1387 Vic's. I want to connect them to my Dell n4064F.
The Vic is 40gb and the dell is 10 sfp+. I have purchased 2 sets of breakout cables. the 10GBTek ones and the dells ones.
Running Vmware 7.0 I see the vic in Vmware just no link. Anything I have to turn on on the cisco server ?
What am I missing ?

Hello JMS070,
I have not seen the VIC but if I understand you want to break out the 40G port to 10G ports to connect to the VICs.
Do you have any 10G ports available for use, even if just for testing?
Can you post a picture of your Dell break out cable, showing the part number that I can validate?

I was able to put the 40GB ports into 10GB mode and connect the cables to the switch itself so they are working. Hoever when moving the 40GB end to the Cisco 1387 vic it does not link. I have also configured the VIC on the cisco side to breakout into 4 -10Gb mode.
