Brocade 6505 RRD

Hello,

My company has recently bought a bit of hardware from another company that went out of business and one of the hardware that came in was a Brocade 6505 FC. We were able to get into the switch but was stumbled across this screen below. We are beginners into networking who are looking to eventually use a few products for learning purposes in the future but in this scenario, we know only what we searched around on forums and discussions but can't find anything for this. We are unable to type in any commands or configs and plan to do a factory reset and to check and see for any licenses along with it. Connection via Serial Com

Maybe you can use the ezswitchsetup and see if it will let you connect to it. https://dell.to/3u2eUIW

Hello Josh,

Thanks for replying. At the moment we are a small company looking to expand in the near future. We are planning to get it ready for learning purposes and then down the road set up a server rack for us to use, so we wanted to go ahead and reset/wipe all the products we received from the other company that sold it to us. Unfortunately we don't have a service tech as of yet. In this case, I am just trying to get this device at hand to factory reset and be put away later. Just having issues of understanding how to login as admin and resetting it from the previous post's picture.

Thank you!

Hi,

Your plan to do a factory reset is a good idea. What are you planning on using the switch for? It is mostly for fibre channel storage networks. Let us know if you need anything else.

It asks if I want to cancel the reboot by pressing ESC but nothing happens and the reboot will still activate. After that there isn't a spot that will allow me to enter any commands.

Does it give you any prompt to interrupt the boot sequence? It should be after the memory test. There should be an option in there to enter the command shell. If you can get there you should be able to run printenv and see if there still is a management IP that you can access.
