Adding 10G Base-T module to N4064F

Hi,

We have a plan to add a 10G Base-T module to N4064F. Do we need to shutdown the switch for adding this module?

One more question,
My colleague said this module is used for only stacking.

Is it true?
I believe we can use it for an ethernet port too.

Thanks,

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.

Do we need to shutdown the switch for adding this module?

Ans: it is hot swappable but recommended to swap the module in maintenance window if your are new to handle the switch.

I believe we can use it for an ethernet port too.

Ans: we can use it for uplink( data link) also since it is ethernet port which can be used as stack port or data port it depends on your need of uses.

Quad-Port SFP Uplink Fixed Ports  :  used for STACKING only

Expansion Slot :  can be used for uplink as data link.

 SFP+ (four 10G ports)

• 10G Base-T (four 10G ports)

 • QSFP+

@DELL-Young E

We'll add 10G Base-T module in maintenance window.

Thanks a lot!
