Release of Enterprise SONiC virtual bundle
Hi all,
For all of you network builders out there … Dell has released the GNS3 bundle for Enterprise SONiC 4.1
So you can now download and import Dell Enterprise SONiC 4.1.1 appliances into your GNS3 topologies
No login or purchase is required. The GNS3 bundle is available for free !

This is yet another fantastic investment by Dell Technologies, in a long line of contributions into open networking. The GNS3 virtual appliances are an amazing resource for learning or for building your own test network environment.
Happy building everyone!
Kind Regards
Barry

Hi Sester,
Good callout. It seems there have been some recent changes to the support site. At the moment, the GNS3 downloads for Enterprise SONiC are now behind a login (whereas they had been available without requiring login). I notice that the GNS3 downloads continue to be available for OS10. I'll investigate internally but I suspect this may be a momentary condition (due to some updates to the support site for SONiC).
Kind Regards,
Barry

Hi Barry,
any news on the downloads? I would like to use them to prepare configurations for our datancenter switches to keep the maintenance windows small.
Best Regards,
Erik

@ErikST Hi Erik, Apologies for the delay in responding. That is a great use case for the virtual appliance. Currently a login is required in order to access the SONiC GNS appliance, if you can login using the email address used when purchasing/registering the SONiC switches, that should enable you to download the latest GNS3 appliance

Hello.
I downloaded "Enterprise_SONiC_OS_4.5.0_gns3".
When I attempt to open the "GNS3 Appliance File", I receive the following error message: "[Errno 13] Permission denied: ~~", and I am unable to access the file.
Even after proceeding with subsequent configuration steps, the file status still appears as "Missing Files".
Could you please advise me on how to properly set up?

Sometimes that error can appear when the logged in user does not have permission to /dev/kvm. The attached .pdf has the details of the chmod commands to fix this. In the screenshots attached the username was "barry" so you can add in whatever name you are using in your environment.
