OS10 GNS Images Network Port Mappings

Hi All

I am trying to map the 10 network interfaces to custom internal port id's, such as this

however in the device these are ignored, this is on a fresh deployment, with the mappings being configured before the initial power on.  I did this as troubleshooting, as i noticed this after modifying this on a previous deployed instance.

but in the device, its connected Eth 1/1/9, which is the original port mapping before i updated it,

Any one else had this or know how to solve?

Thanks

Hi nhewitt,

As a test, I imported an S512 appliance. Adapter 9 was re-named from eth 1/1/9 --> eth 1/1/14.

The connector tool now shows eth 1/1/14 as an connection option

After making the connection in GNS3 topology, OS10 reports link eth 1/1/9 as UP, because this is the adapter number that was used from within the GNS3 custom adapter setting (first screenshot)

So modifying the custom adapters is possible but it might be difficult for someone other than the author of the GNS3 topology to follow (or realize that the GNS3 port 1/1/14 maps to OS10 Adapter 9)

So the best option may be to choose an appliance with more interfaces (say S5248) and simply increase the number of adapters (default is 10)
